Tonight, our 3rd meeting of the fall semester. Crews were finally made and sent out over the past weekend. If you signed up for a group and don't know where you were placed, still want to join a group or just were not able to make it to the meeting, send us an email at [email protected]. Take a look at our last post for all the details about the films we're making.
Other news, we finalize a date and time for our semesterly casting call. The casting call is to help our film group cast actors for their films. (The entire crew are not required to come. Only the director and one other crew member) It would be held on October 12 & 13 (Friday & Saturday) in the Benjamin Banneker Room in Stamp Union from 5-7 pm. Please invite any people you know. As a side note, you don't need any experience at all to participate in the casting call. You just need an interest in acting and you don't have to prepare anything. The directors would have something ready. Email us or check out the Facebook Event for more info.
We also went through a short screenwriting exercise and discussed the screenwriting process. In a nutshell, don't worry about starting from the beginning; start at any part of the film. You can easily combine the scene later. Also don't worry too much about the film title and character titles at first; they can be made up as you're writing. Lastly, the character development must be quick, since we are working with short films, not feature lengths. We'll be discussing cinematography next week. Hope to see you all then!
